Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying

  • Bullying is infrequent and rare at Madison Park.

However, if you suspect that your child has been involved in an incident of harassment, intimidation, or bullying, you should call or email myself or Mr. Daly right away. The most helpful reports state the specific language used and/or behavior exhibited toward your child, as opposed to general statements such as, "______ is bullying my son."

Additionally, there is a link on the side menu of the Madison Park School website that says, HIB initial report. A parent or student should read the NJ legal definition of what constitutes bullying first before you complete the form, which can be done anonymously. In most cases, the incident(s) that has occurred is actually a conflict. And while conflicts can also be serious and require intervention by the counselor and/or administration, they do not require that the incident be reported to the board of education and the NJ state department of Education.
