  • STATISTICS AND ANALYSIS    (9435)                    Grades 11-12       5 Credits

    Prerequisite:

    • Successful completion of Pre-Calculus or Pre-Calculus Honors or
    • Minimum grade of C- in Advanced Algebra/Trigonometry or C in Algebra II

    This course is part of the Middlesex Scholars Program with Middlesex County College.  The course is designed for those who wish to study the content of the AP Statistics and Analysis course but do not necessarily want to take the AP examination. Students will be introduced to the major concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data. Topics include interpreting graphical displays, exploring bi-variate data, the normal distribution, sampling distributions, confidence intervals, and test of significance.


    ADVANCED PLACEMENT STATISTICS AND ANALYSIS            (9436)    Grades 11-12       5 Credits (AP)

    Prerequisite:

    • Minimum of a B- in Pre-Calculus Honors or A- in Pre-Calculus

    This course is part of the Middlesex Scholars Program with Middlesex County College.  It is an advanced placement course for college bound who will be strongly recommended to take the Advanced Placement exam in the Spring.  Significant time will be devoted to preparing students for the advance placement examination.  Topics include interpreting graphical displays, exploring bi-variate data, the normal distribution, sampling distributions, confidence intervals, and tests of significance.  Students will take a mid-term and their final exam grade will reflect the quality of their research project.
