World Language Department
World languages prepare students for life in our global society. Old Bridge High School currently offers five modern languages: French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese. When students begin their study in the sixth grade, they have the opportunity of continuing the language of their choice to the Advanced Placement Level. Students who have successfully completed Spanish I, French I, Italian I, German I, and Mandarin Chinese I in the middle school shall be placed in the corresponding language, level II, when they are promoted to the high school. In the event that any student who has successfully completed a level one course in middle school insists on the same level one course in high school, he or she must make this choice within the appropriate add/drop period. Students who wish to take a second world language course will have a choice among French, Spanish, Italian, German, and Mandarin Chinese.
