Welcome to Old Bridge Township Public Schools
Old Bridge Township Public Schools is a 42-square mile suburban school district located at the southern end of Middlesex County, in central New Jersey. The district has a total daytime student enrollment of just over 9,000 pupils, and students are housed in a pre-kindergarten annex, twelve elementary schools grades K-5, two middle schools grades 6-8, and a single campus high school with a separate facility for 9th graders. The population, exceeding three thousand students, makes it the third largest high school in the state.
During the 2016-2017 school year, the district embarked in a robust endeavor to develop a community stakeholder driven five-year strategic plan. The process involved multiple large groups and focus group meetings. Additionally, data was drawn from hundreds of interviews and an online survey. The creation of Mission 2022, our strategic plan, is the road map guiding our actions as a school district in the years to come. Mission 2022 focuses on four major goal areas; Excellence in Education, Facility Improvement & Expansion, Fiscal Resilience, and The Whole Child.
Furthermore, the Old Bridge Board of Education has utilized Mission 2022 embedded objectives and the New Jersey Every Student Succeeds Act State Plan to adopt the following District Goals for the 2017-2018 school year:
- Excellence in Education: Continue to expand innovative educational opportunities for all students.
- Facilities & Finance: Improve financial reserves in anticipation of increased enrollment.
- The Whole Child: Increase student success by initiating programs to improve daily attendance.
All goals, whether found in our Mission 2022 Strategic Plan or in our Board’s District Goals are always student centered with an overarching goal of continuous improvement in student performance indicators. To this end, the Old Bridge School District is very proud of its accomplishments in the area of school climate. In addition to being recognized as a Character.org National District of Character with every school individually recognized as a National School of Character, the Old Bridge School District has been designated as a top 10 Safest School District and as the 31st Best Place to Teach of 237 New Jersey school systems.
Old Bridge Township was founded upon rich family traditions and a commitment to community values. Our schools are a reflection of those founding pillars. Through a character driven fabric that is generously woven through our programs in the academics, athletics, and the arts; Old Bridge Township Schools will always be a tremendous source of local pride and global impact!
