HOW TO APPLY

In order to qualify for admissions to Old Bridge High School's Chapter of the National Honor Society, students must meet the following criteria:

  1. The student must be a member of the Junior or Senior Class.

  2. The student must be enrolled in old Bridge high School for at least one full semester prior to admission.

  3. The student must have a cumulative grade point average of 4.0 or higher.

  4. The student must have exhibited leadership. Leadership experiences can be drawn from school or community activities while working with or for others.

  5. The student must have exhibited service. Service involves voluntary contributions made by a student to the school or community, done without compensation.

  6. The student must obtain faculty and/or mentor recommendations attesting the student is of good character, is cooperative; demonstrates high standards of honesty and reliability; shows courtesy, concern, and respect for others; and generally, maintains a clean disciplinary record.

Applications for new membership will be accepted at the beginning of each school year. Students who meet the scholarship requirement will be notified and given the information to complete a form detailing their accomplishments in and commitment to service, leadership, and character.

Understanding the Obligations of Membership

Students who accept membership and are inducted into the OBHS chapter should be aware of the time and commitment involved with this honor. For example, there will be chapter meetings and members also are required to participate in chapter and individual service projects to benefit the school and community.
