Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Southwood Elementary School, a National School of Character! Our school is home to more than 300 students in Preschool through Fifth Grade. Our exceptional staff is committed to academic excellence, while fostering a positive, nurturing environment for every child.

Student safety is always our top priority. The Old Bridge Board of Education and its administration work closely with staff and students to ensure a safe and secure environment for all members of our school community.

At Southwood, we respect and value diversity among our students, staff, and families. We are committed to promoting an inclusive environment of equity, mutual respect, and appreciation.

We take pride in the home school partnership which is the cornerstone of our Southwood community. We maintain frequent communication with all stakeholders through email, Class Dojo, Twitter, Instagram, and our school website.

The Southwood PTA is second to none. I strongly encourage you to become a member, even if you are unable to volunteer. Our PTA has created the most memorable experiences for our children! Some highlights include Family Movie Night, Fall Festival, Color Run, and the End of Year Carnival. Participating in such events with your child will provide opportunities to connect with other parents in our Southwood family.
