Students will be involved in various classroom activities and presentations throughout the year designed to incorporate character education and social emotional learning into their daily lives.  Social and emotional learning lessons help foster relationships and provide skills such as self-management, social awareness, self-awareness and responsible decision making to support their needs during this unique time.

Schirra has been honored as a 2025 NJ State School of Character.  This honor is the culmination of an application completed by staff highlighting programs, initiatives and data to support the positive strides we take daily to promote character education.  This designation is for five years.
