OBHS Indoor Percussion brings home Silver Medal at WGI World Championships, Dayton!

They did it again, proving their outstanding talents at World Championships in Dayton! The Old Bridge Indoor Percussion finished their season as the Mid Atlantic Percussion Society Champions, the WGI East Coast Power Regional Champions, and the Silver Medalist at the WGI World Championships in Dayton, Ohio. In Dayton, at World Championships the group competed against 47 other teams across the nation.

This year's OBHS percussionist group is comprised of 38 highly dedicated students that have been practicing and competing from November through April 24th at least 20 hours a week.  Most of these students are in grades 8, 9, and 10 which makes this accomplishment even more amazing. The Indoor ensemble is directed by Ms. Melissa Thatcher who started the drum corps program in 2007. Since its inception the activity has grown into a world renowned program, much like the OBHS Marching Knights. Ms Thatcher works closely with her assistant band directors, Ms. Nancy Arabia and Ms. Samantha ___, along with several band technicians and experts comprised of recent and former OBHS graduates.

The future is bright for the Indoor Percussion! CONGRATS to our talented percussionists and the staff and technicians who work with them!
